La Makan
This project started in Winter 2020 based on our musical ideas and classical Iranian poetry; We focused mainly on Divane_Shams by Molana because of its significant impact on our spiritual life.
We have chosen some poems from the Divan as inspiration and turned them into music by improvising on Santur using primarily Iranian traditional music scales and live-electronics, which mainly works on the instrument sound transformation.
The word La Makan, which Molana often used in his poems, literally means placeless but has a deeper existential, philosophical meaning that describes both man's loneliness in the universe and the freedom of his spirit.
